Happy Easter
A message of gratitude for being able to see Trump's Easter message as plainly awful.
To support this president at this point, you're either:
A) Like him, a genuinely cruel and hateful person;
B) Experiencing a painful, daily strain on your mind and heart from having to absorb this kind of hateful sludge because it's "worth it" for whatever pet issue you think only Republicans will deliver;
C) Dutifully ignoring that daily strain and instead choosing to pretend that the toxicity of this choice will never catch up with you. Or;
D) Completely wrapped up in the delusional belief that all this madness, including every word of this vile Easter rant from an egg-shaped would-be tyrant, is part of “God's Plan” — but somehow also believe that you're too small a piece in it to activate the mind and morality that your own God gave you. It must, over time, eek at the spirit and gnaw at the soul, to be so sure of everything except the validity of your own moral instincts.
I have genuine pity — and, yes, compassion — for every condition above. Each one strikes me as an absolutely terrible way to go through life. I’m genuinely grateful not to suffer the combination of wiring and circumstance that makes one into any of the four types of person outlined here.
But happy Easter to all four, nonetheless. Happy Easter to everyone.
And if you object to the tone of this Easter message, just give the text below another read. With the longest piece of paper in the world, you couldn't space the lines far enough apart to read an iota of genuine kindness or compassion between them.
